Tech Incubator, Digital Ignition, Anchors Its Technology Corridor Connection with Announcement of New Business Accelerator Program and Venture Summit.


Digital Ignition, a tech incubator and business launching pad that houses more than 50 growing companies, revealed plans to roll out an accelerator program and new venture summit at the Technology Corridor press conference. Standing alongside local elected officials and community leaders from both the City of Alpharetta and Forsyth County, Digital Ignition hosted the Technology Corridor press conference and reinforced its commitment to support the economic development efforts of the entire region by further fostering the growth of innovative companies.

Our private and public partnerships have helped us drive opportunities, jobs, and growth for Digital Ignition, our tenants, and community,” said Joanne Sanders President of EWISE Marketing & Communications and General Manager of Digital Ignition. “We are excited to continue to build on that partnership approach with Fundamental Global, and its FG Venture division, as we embark on new growth initiatives in 2023,” she added.


Fundamental Global, a private equity and partnership company focused on long-term strategic holdings, was founded by former T.Rowe Price, Point72, and Tiger Cub portfolio manager Kyle Cerminara as well as former Chairman and CEO of TD Ameritrade, Joe Moglia. The managing director of their FG Venture division, Derek Distenfield, is an award-winning entrepreneur who co-founded and managed GSD Labs and Bunker Labs –which seeded over 350 startups worldwide. Distenfield and Sanders will work together to launch a new accelerator at Digital Ignition called FG Labs in 2023.

“FG Ventures consists of a team of seasoned entrepreneurs, corporate leaders, and visionary investors that have formed a collective that is passionate about helping ambitious leaders thrive,” said Distenfield.“Our goal, in partnership with Digital Ignition, is to become the premiere incubator and accelerator in the region that helps propel the extraordinary innovations that continue to spring from North Georgia,” he added.


With FG Ventures setting up an office at Digital Ignition, the team will help launch two major projects in 2023:

  • Business Accelerator- which will provide local entrepreneurs with opportunities to gain mentorship and seek investors as well as additional resources. This program plans to accept 10-12 companies in 1Q of 2023.

  • Venture Summit- a two-day strategic gathering that will create networking opportunities between entrepreneurs, investors, industry leaders and necessary business development resources. FG Ventures plans to host the summit in Fall of 2023.
